Weinstock, Ger. grapevine, both the pattern and yarn color reflect the withering grapevines prevalent in our old home of Naples, Italy and Stuttgart, Germany. The woven texture, achieved by slipped stitches, further represents the twisting of grapevines.

This cowl pattern is ideal for highlighting hand-dyed, variegated and handspun yarns.

Skill: Advanced Beginner ++

Charted and Written Instructions

Cowl: 210 yds / 190 m worsted weight yarn, approx. 100 g.

Yarn used in sample: Malabrigo Rios, color 862, Piedras.

Infinity Cowl: 420 yds / 380 m worsted weight yarn, approx 200 g.

Yarn used in sample: Malabrigo Rios, color Purpuras

US 8 / 5 mm circulars or DPNs, 2 sets

Tapestry needle

Stitch marker (one required)

Gauge: 21 sts x 32 rounds = 4 in / 10 cm, in stitch pattern, in the round.

Sizing: Two sizes available: Cowl (Infinity Cowl)

Optional Techniques: Tubular Cast On, Tubular Bind Off, Kitchener Stitch (instructions included for all) or CO and BO of your choice.
